Americana Trio focuses on traditional acoustic music- from blues to bluegrass and jazz to cowboy. Using violin, bass, and guitar this string ensemble plays with a passion and spontaneity that challenges the listener to experience the beauty and complexity of what has become known as the music of Americana.

Americana Duo plays for events requiring a smaller musical footprint and features violin and guitar.

Alan Pieper is a classically trained violinist with improvisational skills that bring energy and freshness to each performance. His strong swing fiddle style was born during four years of playing twin-fiddle arrangements in a popular western swing band that toured the Hill Country of Texas. When he came to Georgia this swinging' style was a natural entry to the Georgia bluegrass scene. In the '70s and '80s he was member of such contemporary bluegrass groups as Leather Britches and Gypsy Heart. In the '90s he co-founded Full Moon Trio with Kathleen Hatfield, a group which still actively performs. As violinist/fiddler with Americana Trio, his soaring leads and stunning improvisations add excitement and texture to each performance.

Jim Culliton brings a masterful talent on acoustic guitar to the trio. Originally from South Florida, his earliest influences as a teenager were rockabilly, surf, and country rock. In his musical travels across America Jim has immersed himself in a variety of musical pursuits including blues, folk revival, bluegrass, cajun, new acoustic jazz, arranging, and composition. His lightening fast chord changes and brilliant solos are an integral part of the group's harmonic foundation. His rhythmic presence, vocals, and leadership onstage are essential to the musical impact of the trio.

Robert Henson is a bass player who defies stylistic boundaries and brings heartfelt passion and energy to the trio. Raised in a musical family and trained at the Indiana University School of Music, Robert has performed with many of the Southeast's top musical artists. From appearing with pop/rock groups such as Telegram, David Ryan Harris and The Drifters, to engagements with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Opera Orchestra plus jazz, latin and bluegrass gigs, Robert fulfills his life's passion for playing and living music. As bassist in the Americana Trio, Robert demonstrates this passion to the audience with engaging and fearless performances.
